Bear the Weight
A downloadable game for Windows and macOS
So this was made for one of my masters classes, And I would like to use this to give a brief overview of the project, and the good bad and the things learned on it.
Overview: For my advanced design in human center tech class, we had to create a video or game about a product for the future, I went with the resistance based future since I have been reading a lot about the Hong Kong situation. And the ways they are avoiding detection, including photos of other people faces. I took this and made it into a future idea where you can have a bandana that shows someone elses face. But that does put an innocent person at risk. Can you bear the weight?
Good:
I finally got how buttons work. And it didnt take me 3 hours
I can make my own art assets. Big thanks to my professor Kate for showing me piskel, and big thanks for piskel for existing
Bad:
In the build when the game is ran it causes the buildings to randomly lose their colliders, maybe because the player has to be a trigger and they dont work. I am not sure. it pains me I cannot fix this but being in the middle of the coronavirus outbreak and my moms health not doing great either. I just wanted to get this final done for some weight off my mind. Its the one bug in the game
Things Learned:
I am still working on learning this whole "slow down and take it less stressful on yourself" (as i am writing this i am working my way through about 20 bucks of taco bell, my first meal in about 3 days) But I was at least sleeping, upside. While I feel every game I keep improving as a designer, I still feel i struggle improving as a person. But I am at least learning to not be so hard on myself about it, its a start
